Defence Public School has been founded by a society under the name Subhaga Devi Smriti Education foundation in the year 2015. It is owned and managed by Smt. Subhaga Devi Smiriti Education Foundation. The founder had a vision to setup and start a public school to cater to the growing educational needs of the people who are residing in the close vicinity of rural and semi urban habitations of Sashpur, Dehradun and adjoining locations.
The residents of these areas belong to the hill state of Uttarakhand and H.P. who migrated here to settle.The residents have been facing difficulties for some time past to seek admission for their wards in suitable school which may impart quality education to their children. The felt disadvantaged and marginalised in this connection.
